Information We Collect
When you register, we collect your Sri Lanka mobile phone number for authentication purposes. When you post an ad, we collect the content you provide including title, description, category, location, price, contact preferences, and any photos or videos you upload. We also collect standard usage data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the platform, authenticate your account, display your ads to other users, process payments, send OTP verification messages, and provide customer support. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Phone Number Visibility
Your phone number is used for login only and is never publicly displayed unless you explicitly choose to show it on your ad listing (via the phone availability options when creating an ad). You are in full control of when and how your number is shared.
Photos and Media
Images and videos you upload are stored securely on Cloudflare R2 object storage and served via a custom domain. Uploaded media is publicly accessible via the URL associated with your ad for as long as the ad is active.
Payments
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. MyAds does not store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment transactions. We retain records of payment amounts, plan types, and payment status for billing and support purposes.
Cookies and Session
We use a single httpOnly cookie to maintain your login session. No third-party tracking cookies are set by MyAds. Your language preference is stored in a separate cookie.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data with trusted service providers (Supabase for database hosting, Cloudflare for storage and infrastructure, Stripe for payments, and our SMS provider for OTP delivery) solely to operate the platform. These providers are contractually obligated to keep your data confidential.
Data Retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and ads will be removed from our systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us via the Contact Us page. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), httpOnly session cookies, and access-controlled cloud storage. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of MyAds after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.
